Pregnancy Loss & Grief Therapy
Compassionate support after miscarriage, stillbirth, termination for medical reasons, or other reproductive loss, including grief that others may not fully understand.
We're so sorry you're here.
Pregnancy loss can be one of the loneliest kinds of grief. Sometimes few people knew you were pregnant. Sometimes people say things meant to comfort, like "At least it was early" or "You can try again," that leave you feeling more alone. And sometimes the world seems to expect you to move on long before you're ready.
However your loss happened, and however far along you were, your grief is real. You don't have to justify it, shrink it, or carry it by yourself.
Your grief is as real as your love.
Every loss is different
We support women and families after:
- Miscarriage, at any stage
- Stillbirth
- Termination for medical reasons (TFMR)
- Ectopic or molar pregnancy
- Chemical pregnancy or failed IVF transfers
- Loss of a twin or multiple
- Infant loss
Grief after pregnancy loss doesn't follow a straight line. You might feel sadness, numbness, anger, guilt, jealousy, or even relief, sometimes all in the same day. You might find yourself avoiding baby showers, dreading due dates and anniversaries, or struggling in your body in ways no one else can see.
You might be carrying
- Guilt or questions about whether something could have been different
- Grief for the future you imagined, not just the pregnancy itself
- Distance from your partner, who may be grieving differently
- Anxiety about trying again, or about a current pregnancy after loss
- Complicated feelings after a decision you never wanted to make
- A sense that no one understands, or that you're "supposed to be over it"
How therapy helps
Therapy is a place where your baby and your loss can be spoken about openly, for as long as you need. There's no timeline and no right way to grieve. Together, we work to:
- Make space for your grief without pressure to "move on"
- Ease guilt and self-blame that don't belong to you
- Navigate grief alongside your partner, family, and friends
- Get through hard dates, like due dates, anniversaries, and holidays
- Find ways to honor and remember your baby, if that feels meaningful
- Feel supported through pregnancy after loss, when you're ready
How we work together
Our work is often informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), helping you understand the different parts of you holding this loss: the part that aches, the part that keeps asking why, the part that's trying to keep going for everyone else.
